Sharing my love and knowledge of the natural world has become a passion of mine and as a result I am grateful for every moment I have spent at Westwood Hills.
MORE ABOUT ANDERS
Years of experience:
I have been involved in the exciting field of environmental education for 5 years and worked as a naturalist for 3 years with Three Rivers Park District.
Briefly describe your background/experience in your field of work:
In the past, I have also worked in preschools, directed leadership and wilderness trip programs at Camp Olson YMCA, been a member of the natural resources and wildlife management crew for Three Rivers Park District, worked as a bike mechanic, and instructed rock climbing and archery programs for the Northern Star Council chapter of the Boy Scouts.
Q: What are your interests and hobbies?
In my spare time, I love to ride bikes, downhill ski, camp, go to concerts, and travel.
Q: How has nature impacted your life?
Sometimes I forget that this is my job and not just a fun hobby because every day at work I am able to be outside, learn, and share valuable experiences with skilled naturalists, generous volunteers, and curious visitors. Sharing my love and knowledge of the natural world has become a passion of mine and as a result I am grateful for every moment I have spent at Westwood Hills (even time spent doing office or behind the scenes work).
Q: What is your favorite activity or program at Westwood?
My favorite programs to teach are pond studies and any wilderness skill or recreation type programs.
