The job of a naturalist is immensely rewarding as you assist in helping people of all ages learn and experience our natural world.

Briefly describe your background/experience in your field of work:

I’ve worked seasonally at a number of environmental learning centers and nature centers, including Eagle Bluff, Trees for Tomorrow, River Bend, Springbrook, Lowry, and now Westwood.

What is your favorite activity or program at Westwood?

I love doing pond studies! There are so many interesting critters in the water; even after more than 5 years of teaching this class, I always learn something new.

Q: What are your interests and hobbies?

Rock climbing, hiking, running, cross-country skiing, canoeing, camping, and more… Just about anything that is active and outside.  I’m also an avid reader.

Q: How has nature impacted your life?

Nature is a place I go to relax, to grow and be challenged, and to get perspective. I find so much to be thankful for when I spend time outdoors, and I am always learning and discovering new things.

Q: What is your favorite place at Westwood?

I haven’t quite decided yet, but I love the Y-dock, T-dock, pines and sugarbush.  There’s something interesting to see everywhere if you look hard enough
